Olivia Boatman is an avid music educator and flutist currently based in Iowa. She maintains a private woodwind and piano studio. In addition to her position at Kansas Wesleyan University, she is a Band and Orchestra Sales Consultant and lefreQue Consultant at West Music.

As an orchestral musician, she was the 2nd flute/piccolo for the Starkville/MSU Symphony Orchestra, 3rd flute/piccolo for the Delta Symphony, and currently a member of the Mississippi Baptist Symphony. She has performed and/or presented at the Florida Flute Association Convention, Music by Women Festival, and the National Flute Association Convention.

In 2016 Dr. Boatman completed a Doctor of Music in performance from Florida State University with a Music Education and Leadership certificate. While at FSU, she was a member of the FSU Symphony Orchestra, FSU Chamber Winds, and FSU Wind Orchestra (co-principal flute for the CBDNA performance in 2015).

In addition, she holds a Master of Music from Arkansas State University and Bachelor of Music Education from Mississippi State University. While at ASU she served as a Graduate Assistant for the Department of Music and had the honor of performing as a guest soloist with the Wind Ensemble. Furthermore, she has a K-12 MS educator license. Flute instructors include Sophie Kershaw, Carol Dale, Lana Johns, Joe Bonner, and Eva Amsler.
