The Kansas Wesleyan University Foundation Board welcomed a new chair and two new members this year. Ken Ebert, of Salina, has taken on the role of board chair. He is the managing principal at Waddell & Reed and joined the Foundation Board in 2012.

It didn’t take long for Chase Hartman ’12, Tessa Giammona ’13 and Time Feaster ’10 to land once-in-a-lifetime opportunities with national sport franchises. The three sports management alumni are enjoying early career positions with National Football League (NFL) franchises in California, and all three attribute their career readiness to in- and out-of-the-classroom experiences they had at Kansas Wesleyan.

In celebration of Kansas Wesleyan University’s 130th anniversary, Jennifer Toelle has compiled a commemorative book, composed of photographs that take the reader from the late 1800s through today. “Kansas Wesleyan University, The Campus History Series,” is a unique pictorial history illustrating the university’s institutional history and the enduring Coyote spirit.

Kansas Wesleyan University has received re-accreditation from The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and is scheduled for its next visit in 2026-27. It is the second time in as many decades that the university passed all criteria with no follow-up action required. In addition, the university recently received the highest possible Financial Responsibility Composite Score (3.0) from the U.S. Department of Education, which reflects the overall financial health of an institution.

The Salina Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that it is now taking applications for the 2017 class of Leadership Salina. For the first time, Leadership Salina graduates will receive course credit towards Kansas Wesleyan University's M.B.A. program.

The need for nurses continues to grow, and standards are shifting toward those who hold a bachelor’s degree. The shortage is especially dire in rural communities. To help meet this need, Kansas Wesleyan University will now offer a fully online R.N. to B.S. with a major in Nursing program. The program allows nurses who already hold an unencumbered Registered Nursing license to leverage their experience to complete a Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing in an accelerated study.
