Raffle Nets $2500 for Liberia

You are here

Kansas Wesleyan students continue to pound the pavement for the country of Liberia. Three classes: Business Leadership, Consumer Behavior, and Team Building put their heads together and created eight gift baskets from generous community donations and held a raffle. Their biggest night came during sales at a home basketball game. Overall, they raised $2500 which will be split 50/50. Half will go towards creating a soccer program in Liberia and covering uniform cost. The other half will benefit Tiyatien Health, a clinic that provides healthcare for the impoverished country.

Over the past three years, KWU students have been a huge source of support for Liberia, raising nearly $30,000. The efforts will continue throughout the school year. For more information about how you can give to this important cause, contact Paul Hedlund at paul.hedlund@kwu.edu.
