You are here

Kansas Wesleyan University

On behalf of the Kansas Wesleyan University Presidential Search Committee, I am excited to report to you that three outstanding candidates have been selected as finalists in the search process, after interviews with our eight semi-finalists this past weekend.

* Dr. Brian McGee and his wife Deborah will be on campus this week (January 9-11). Dr. McGee is currently the Chief of Staff and Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of the President at the College of Charleston.

* Dr. Roger Drake and his wife Judy will be with us January 15-17. Dr. Drake currently serves as the Vice President for Administration and Finance at Lindsey Wilson College.

* Dr. Matt Thompson and his wife Jennifer will visit January 17-19. Dr. Thompson is now the Vice President for Advancement at Florida Southern College.

Please see the attached curriculum vitae for each of the finalists for more details.

We are looking forward to all of you meeting the candidates and their spouses. Attached to this memo is a detailed schedule for each candidate. We hope you will make plans to attend “your” session so that you can become more personally acquainted with each of these individuals.

Please note that we have asked each of the candidates to prepare a short presentation on the future of Kansas Wesleyan so that we all might hear their ideas and thoughts on what lies ahead for our great
University. These presentations will be offered during the “Open Forum” and we would like to extend a special invitation to you to be a part of these sessions as well. A survey opportunity to provide input on each candidate will be provided to all of you.

Each of us serving on the Search Committee has been stimulated and impressed by the quality of ALL the candidates who have expressed an interest in the KWU Presidency, as well as the input we have received from these men and women regarding what they’ve learned about Kansas Wesleyan. As you might expect, they each did extensive research, as well as taking time to talk with our search consultant about the school and the community. During my conversations with the three finalists since their selection, I can tell you, without hesitation, how much they are looking forward to being on campus and meeting all of you so they can learn more about this wonderful place. I encourage each of you to join us during the candidates’ visits.

Thank you,
Randy St. Clair, Search Committee Chair
