Red Out!

Rock the Beat at Kansas Wesleyan University

On Thursday, February 7, hundreds of basketball fans will gather to see match-ups between the Kansas Wesleyan University and Sterling College basketball teams. However, rather than purple and gold on one side, this year there will be red. Kansas Wesleyan continues its heart disease awareness mission with a Red Out. During the game, fans will wear red to honor loved ones while helping to fight heart disease and stroke. Teams, students and community members are encouraged to purchase and wear a “Rock the Beat” shirt to school, to work and to the game in honor of our loved ones and the American Heart Association.

Cardiovascular disease kills more people in the US than the next five leading causes of death combined, including cancer. The Red Out is a great way to celebrate life of family and friends we have lost to this devastating disease while making a difference by helping to save others.

If you cannot come to the game but would like to show your support, you can make a donation in the school’s name and send it to Kansas Wesleyan University. All proceeds go to the American Heart Association. Over the past three years, Kansas Wesleyan students have raised over $9,000 for this important cause. Shirts are available for $12, or $10 with a student ID. The women’s game tips off at 6pm, men at 8pm.
