The KWU students return from Choir Tour and will perform a home concert on Tuesday, March 26. The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the University United Methodist Church located on 1509 S. Santa Fe.

The concert will consist of the KWU Philharmonic Choir, the Wesleyan Chorale, and the Handbell Choir. Both the Philharmonic Choir and Chorale are directed by Ken Hakoda. KWU student, Melanie Mann conducts the Handbell Choir. Leslie Mangrum is the Assistant Director and Judy Weber is the Accompanist. 

The KWU Debate and Forensics team took first place in the Debate Sweepstakes at National Christian College Forensics Association. More details to follow Monday as they return from their competition and travels. Congratulations to all of our students and coach Gary Harmon for their hard work!

Richard Esvang, and Dr. David Silverman were recently granted tenure status at Kansas Wesleyan University.

Esvang earned his Master of Fine Arts from Western Illinois University. He is the founder and former artistic director of Great Plains Theatre Festival in Abilene, and has won several awards and accolades throughout his 30 year career, including the Irene Ryan Award Regional Winner and the Carol Otto Award for Distinguished Acting Performance. The Director of Theatre at KWU, Esvang was also promoted to the rank of Associate Professor.

Dr. Curt Meine, internationally-recognized conservation biologist, writer, historian, and Aldo Leopold Scholar, will present at Kansas Wesleyan University's first Sustainability Symposium. This year's symposium, themed “Sustainability as a Land Ethic”, will feature a film screening, presentations by Dr. Meine, and a panel discussion. Besides being the author of the first full and most widely-known biography of Aldo Leopold, Dr. Meine has been involved in conservation education, advocacy, and numerous research projects around the world.Dr.
