The Washington Center
Since 2013, Kansas Wesleyan University has been an affiliate with the highly respected Washington Center, a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization located in Washington, D.C. KWU is the only institution in Kansas with such a partnership. Acceptance for affiliation is based on the academic strength and successes of the programs at KWU.
With a staff of 80, The Washington Center serves more than 2,000 students annually from the U.S. and 28 other countries, working with thousands of host organizations to provide students with a once-in-a-lifetime internship opportunity. The programs provide access to four potential paths—government, business, not for profit, and international.
This opportunity allows KWU students to not only earn a prestigious internship, but one that will give them an opportunity that is tailored to their interests and field of study, chosen from more than 1,000 sites in the D.C. area. These internships are for students who are driven and want to be challenged. The experience is a chance to be engaged on a level that is designed to help apprentices grow as academically, personally, and professionally.
