Kansas Wesleyan University’s Dining Services has earned an A+ rating for its vegan food offerings from the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). KWU becomes only the third school in Kansas to receive the A+ score, joining Sterling College and Bethel College.
In order to test the school’s vegan offerings, PETA examines a school’s menus and other food options. The school is also graded on other factors, including having a vegan member on its student advisory board, offering options outside of mayo and labeling vegan options clearly.
“This is a great accomplishment for our dining services program,” said Leon Paredes, KWU Dining Services General Manager. “We work hard to provide quality food of all types for all students, and to be recognized in this fashion is a feather in the cap for our whole team.”
